Sarita's Blog

Sarita's blog focuses on connecting with yourself on a deeper level through mindset, self-care and healthy habits.

It starts when you wake up, the importance of a morning routine

I was that person that used to role out of bed pretty much to get ready for work everyday  and the only thing I did consistently was walk Scruffy, my little blind dog. At the time, I didn't find the importance of having a morning routine.

Now I know, as an entrepreneur, as a mindset and success coach; the morning routine is the way you MOLD the day. Your morning routine sets the intentions for the day. When you set intentions for the day, you are communicating to yourself on a subconscious level what you desires are.

I created this blog post as a gentle reminder that having some type of morning practice is very important for yourself, and your own personal self-care.

Here are a few things I have picked up over the years regarding a morning routine.

1. Don't automatically look at your phone!  I know super hard and I have been guilt of it as we'll, for real but stop it. Keep it hidden and wake up to the good old fashioned alarm or...

Self-Care During a Break-Up

healthy habits self-care Jul 30, 2021

The title may make you scratch your head in wonder, "how is this possible"

The reality is breaking up doesn't need to be hard, rough or nasty, in fact you can invite harmony into you life like you can with a lot of things.

The most important thing is you allow yourself space to breath, feel and present within the possible chaos that is occurring around you.

I am speaking from experience here because within the last 3 months I broke off an 8 year relationship that I knew I had not been aligned with for years but continued to stay in. I wasn't until just a month ago I moved out and started a new chapter and wanted to share a few tips I personally did in order to breath life into myself daily while I was going through the transition.

Here are the  5 lessons I’ve learned during my break-up:

  1. Its ok to be a messy & emotional AF
  2. Stop Stop Stop worrying about things you can’t control
  3. It gets to be simple
  4. You don’t need to go at it all alone
  5. Love...

The 101 of setting boundaries

healthy habits self-care May 20, 2021

Boundaries are the limits that we set on our time, energy, and space with ourselves or another person. There are times that boundaries can feel challenging to set in place, so I have come up three reasons why boundaries can be a little challenging.

There are two types of boundaries, internal and external.

Internal boundaries

These are the limits that you set with yourself and are extremely personal. In general, I like to describe having strong internal boundaries as keeping promises to yourself.

External boundaries

Unlike internal boundaries, these are the types of boundaries that include another person or persons, like a friend or mother-in-law, partner, employee, or sibling.

Step one: acknowledge boundaries might feel tricky

The process of setting boundaries is never cut and dry. It can time many years of practice and self-work to get more comfortable with saying No to others can tell you what is too much or too little, you are the only one that can do...

3 Lessons Learned in Mexico

I had the pleasure of being in Mexico during the week of Birthday last week and had a lot of down time to do some reflection and creative work.

Here are a few things I though of during my trip that I wanted to share with you.

1.  Gratitude Isn't Just an Attitude

Yes, we can give gratitude verbally, written or in thought but having the attitude is not enough. Yes having the mental state of gratitude is very important however it doesn't penetrate us at the soul level. Its the difference between knowing and actually doing. Knowledge will only take you so far. We can claim to "know something" but when it comes to implementing it into our lives, it shows up in a different way. It's about embodiment.  When you are embodying gratitude it reverberates through you to your core.

 2. Stop Worrying

This cliche response can be annoying I know but give me a minute to explain. I had a total light bulb moment when I was in Mexico, I...

5 ways we give away our energetic power

healthy habits self-care Feb 23, 2021

It's no surprise that often we find ourselves pretty drained at the end of the day and take a moment to realize that we are giving energy to things that really don't need as much attention as we should give it.

I see energy as power and a simple analogy is every time we plug ourselves into an activity or a person we are giving away our power, whether it be positive power or not.

These are a few things we can be mindful of during our day when it comes to giving our energy that will cause us to feel drained at the end of the day.

Checking Social Media Constantly: I am super guilty of this particular energy consuming activity, I am still learning but have realized that by limiting my time on social medial allows me to be a lot more present in my current situations. Check the screen time on your phone to gauge how much time you spend on social media per week. If the number surprises you in a bad way try setting limits for yourself. Your mental and emotional...

2020: 10 Lessons I Learned and Relearned

healthy habits self-care Dec 30, 2020

As like many people I am reflecting on this past year and wanted to take a moment to share 10 lessons I learned in 2020.

1. Family & Health First

If there is anything this year has show us is that our family and our families health matter. This year has been a trying year for so many people and my heart goes out to you if you lost anyone to covid19 or know someone who has. In our efforts we have learned to be more mindful and considerate to people around us an respect people’s health. During our lockdown quarantine so many of us got the opportunity to get close to people in our household and got closer to people because we were not able to see them. Regardless we realized that family and health are what matter the most!

2. Keep Showing Up

Covid19, the quarantine and everything else that I went through I confirmed that showing up is what I could do not only for myself but for you. Wellness to me, IS how we show up to the world. And with this year as full of anxiety, and...

Why Sleep? Your Adrenals Need a Break

healthy habits self-care Oct 27, 2020

I know what it feels like to be on adrenal overload to the point you end up having ongoing anxiety attacks due to the inability to sleep. Let me break what I learned about adrenals a few years back and why it's vitally important to take care of ourselves with self care so we don't get to to this point.

The “fight or flight” syndrome – you’ve heard of it, right? Accompanied with the image of the saber-toothed tiger dashing after a hunter, getting ready to attack. You often get into this situation, don’t you? In modern times, we’re not literally in that frantic position, but our bodies are often reacting as if we were fighting for our lives. Our adrenal glands, located on top of each kidney, are forced to work overtime in an effort to deal with stress from all sources:  injury, disease, work, family, finances, environment, etc.

It’s hard to imagine these small endocrine glands, essentially the size of a walnut, responsible for the...

The Undeniable Connection Between Self-Care and Success

healthy habits May 12, 2020

As entrepreneurs, our "to do" lists never shorten, and we often forget that our businesses can only run as optimally as we do!

Self-care is hardly a new concept. In fact, Ancient Greeks encouraged self-care as a way to make people more honest citizens, and more likely to care for others. Today, we know for a fact in both science and psychology that the healthier we are, the more powerfully we can show up in every area of lives.

Are the sacrifices you’re making affecting your life and your business? Not sure? Ask yourself if you have done any of the following in the past 6 months:

1It’s noon and you realize you haven’t eaten or drank a lot of fluids yet because you’ve been so focused on work.

2. 5:00 pm comes too quickly and you often have at least 3 more hours of work to complete before you can quit for the day.

3. You obsess over… well, EVERYTHING! Deadlines, to-do’s, clients, money… the list goes on and on.

Why you should start juicing now!

healthy habits Apr 29, 2020

Ok, so we are cooped up in quarantine. Many of us have gained a little chub since we entered into the home about 6 plus weeks ago. Totally understandable since there is quite a bit of stress and the tendency to want to snack.

But doing juicing is a great way to kick those sweet cravings to the curb.

Did you know that when you make juice from raw vegetables, your body absorbs the nutrients within 15 seconds?

Talk about an energy shot!

No need to buy those sugary and chemical-ish concoctions from your local drug-store or mini mart. Juicing is an all-natural way to boost your energy and feel amazing.

When you juice your fruits and veggies, you end up extracting all the water and nutrients from them and leave behind only the plant fibers. By separating the fruit or vegetable from its fiber, we gain access to all of the amazing vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytonutrients which are much more easily assimilated by our body than if we were to eat them. This...

Getting It Done: 3 Tips To Use Time Effectivly

healthy habits mindset Apr 20, 2020

I woke up this morning feeling totally rested. But part of me just wanted to stay in bed. After all, it was only 6am.

So I closed my eyes for a few minutes but then they popped open again.

What did I have on my plate today?

I did a quick review of my calendar and noted nothing until 10am, great I had a few hours to take it easy!

So I had a choice to make, I could either get up and get my morning routine started or stay in bed for a an hour more.

So if I started procrastinating, my day would fall apart.

To be honest, if I decided to label myself as a procrastinator, I simply would not have the lifestyle that I have.

I know from personal experience that putting things off and waiting until the last minute doesn’t serve you.

How do I know? I just do. Procrastinating helps no one. In fact, it will only hold you back and distance you from your dreams.

I have a few ideas that will help you stay on track. Mind if I share them?

First, can I ask you a...
